ABOUT
What drives us? What moves us? How do we become who we are? For as long as I can remember, I have been interested in the nature of people, how we come together and interact with each other. My Bavarian-Basque heritage has had a strong influence on me. I grew up bilingual and learnt to mediate between different cultures and perspectives from birth.
Due to my own binational origins, I have close ties to Spain, a strong affinity with Spanish-speaking cultures and a high level of sensitivity to the factors of culture and language, which I take into particular consideration in intercultural conflicts.
My love of interacting with people and creating understanding for one another, even in the face of completely different positions, led me to mediation. Mediation came to me from many different directions before I discovered it for myself. Creating understanding, making peace, helping people to take a step back in order to see the big picture and find a viable solution for the different parties: This is what being a mediator is all about for me. I have been active in this vocation since 2016, for couples and families, in organizations and schools.
In recent years, a second, closely related dimension has emerged in my work as a non-medical practitioner specialising in psychotherapy. After all, it is not always a conflict with others that troubles us – sometimes it is life itself that leads us into a crisis. A break-up. A loss. A deep-seated exhaustion. A phase of life that has lost its clear shape. In such moments, I support people as they find their bearings again – with empathy, a focus on their strengths, and on an equal footing. Whether in mediation or psychotherapy, my aim is always to ensure that you are seen and heard, that you find space, and that you can take the next step.
